Founder and Director of the Institute, Douglas Beech, MD is a psychiatrist in private practice in Columbus, Ohio. He is a member of the active medical staff of Riverside Methodist Hospital, and is also clinical assistant professor of psychiatry at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health. In his clinical practice he specializes in the integrated individual treatment of adults with psychiatric disorders, with special expertise and experience in individual psychotherapy. He is board-certified in both Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry.
Dr. Beech received his medical degree from the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine after an undergraduate degree in Integrated Life Sciences from Kent State University. After an internship year in Pediatrics at Columbus Children’s Hospital, he completed his psychiatry residency at Harding Hospital in Worthington where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Beech formerly served as the Chief of Adult Inpatient Psychiatry at Riverside Methodist Hospital, and is a past president of the Psychiatric Society of Central Ohio.
Dr. Beech currently serves as a psychiatric consultant to the Franklin County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities, and is a member of the Psychiatric Society of Central Ohio, the Ohio Psychiatric Association, the American Psychiatric Association, and the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law. Dr. Beech has been recognized by his peers as an outstanding physician in his specialty in multiple physician surveys including Best Doctors in America and The Columbus Dispatch/WBNS10TV.
